The Study Abroad Fair will be held February 10 at the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm in the Egan building just outside the main library entrance. Representatives from UAS study abroad partner organizations will be on hand to answer questions and present the many programs they offer around the world. Students are encouraged to learn what opportunities are available for starting their next adventure.

Program coordinator Dashiell Hillgartner notes, “Students interested in studying away need to be willing to embrace the unknown, try new things, and be flexible with change. Those who participate are forever changed. Students return with more self-confidence, intellectual and social competencies, an appreciation of the world or our country, and new skills and knowledge for professional success.”

Through study away programs, hundreds of universities and site options are available to eligible students for a semester or full year. Partner organizations include the International Student Exchange Program, National Student Exchange, Academic Programs International, Global Education Oregon, Institute for Study Abroad, and the popular Semester at Sea program, operated by the Institute for Shipboard Education.

The UAS Academic Exchange & Study Abroad office is happy to announce the placements of spring semester study abroad participants. This cohort will be representing UAS in five countries on three continents while participating in programs that focus on topics like international business, studio art, Middle East politics, international education, and more.
