Getting Started Steps for New Students

Step 1: Apply for admission into your degree program of choice.

Step 2: Take both the Math and English placement tests at your local campus:

• Juneau  Learning & Testing Center 
• Ketchikan Learning Center
• Sitka Learning Center

or arrange to take your tests from a distance by calling the Juneau Learning Center at  907 796-6348 or Toll-free (days M-F) 1-877-465-4827

Step 3: Meet with your academic or faculty advisor.  You can do this in person or by phone.  If you do not know who your assigned advisor is, call the Student Resource Center at 907.796.6000 or toll free 1.877.465.4827 or visit the advising staff list.

**Meeting with an advisor is critical for new students!**  Starting out on the right foot is important for your academic success.  Advisors will help!
