Occupational Endorsement
Child Development Associate (CDA)
The Child Development Associate (CDA) is the first step in the UAS early childhood education career ladder. The CDA credential is awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition based in Washington, DC. The Council awards the credential based upon assessment of competency. UAS offers early childhood courses (one credit each) that prepare students to demonstrate the required competencies. These courses apply toward the Early Childhood Certificate and the AAS degree in early childhood education.
