Pre-Engineering

The Pre-Engineering certificate will start the student towards a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering. The certificate coursework concentration is on mathematics, science, English, and introductory engineering courses. The certificate is designed to give students a broad introduction to the engineering profession and includes courses that are typically required for first year engineering students. With assistance from the pre-engineering advisor, students may tailor the courses within the certificate to meet the requirements of a specific engineering program. Upon completion of the certificate, students can transfer into the second year of a four-year engineering program at UAA, UAF, or another school of their choice. Students must earn a grade of C (2.00) or better in all courses to earn the certificate and to ensure that courses will transfer.

For more information about our graduation rates, the median debt of students who completed the program, and other important information, please view the Gainful Employment Disclosure form or website.
