Celebrate Rain
In choosing to make UAS your home away from home, you have made the Tongass National Rainforest, one of the largest temperate rainforests in existence, your dwelling place. You can expect much rain from living in Southeast Alaska; anywhere from 80 to 100 inches every year! With that much rain fall its little wonder that the Activities Office at UAS has made rain celebration the 2008-2009 theme for student events.
Why Celebrate Rain?
Rather than choosing to mourn the loss of sunlight and the 80 to 100 inches of down pour sure to fall this academic year, why not celebrate rain's pleasures? When was the last time you slid in the mud while while racing from third base to home on a rainy day? View the list of activities below to see some of the joys living in one of the world's largest remaining rainforests brings.
