You are a Freshmen Student if:

tree

  • You have never attended college OR
  • You are enrolled in high school and college courses concurrently
Current High School Students

If you are a high school senior, apply for admission during the first semester of your senior year. Provide your high school transcript with all of the courses you have taken so far plus the ones that are in progress. After your graduation ceremony, arrange to have your official high school transcript showing your graduation date and your ACT or SAT scores sent to the Admissions Office. Alaskan high school transcripts must show that the student fulfilled all curriculum requirements and satisfactorily completed all three competency areas of the High School Qualifying Exam.

Home School Students

UAS welcomes home school applicants and reviews each application using the same admission criteria used for high school students. It is understood that a home school transcript may be different than a high school transcript. Regardless of the format, a transcript should include 9th to 12th grade courses, and the time frame of each course (academic year and semester). In addition, an assessment of performance (letter grade, percentage, etc.) is needed. Occasionally applicants may be asked to submit additional information describing curriculum or texts used. Students must also submit ACT or SAT scores.

High School Graduates

If you have graduated from high school, regardless of the time between high school graduation and attending UAS, you simply need to complete the online application, send in your official high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores.
