UAS is proud to provide two scholarship programs to eligible undergraduate students to assist in housing costs: the Chancellor's Award and the Alaska Leadership Initiative.
This merit-based scholarship is awarded to new full-time students (whether first-time students or transfers) based upon academic achievement. The award may cover up to $2,600 per year of on-campus housing for a new student's first year at UAS and may cover up to $1,300 the second year. UA Scholars, Alaska Performance Scholarship Recipients, or incoming freshmen with a 3.5 or higher GPA and an ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1210 or higher, or transfer students with a transfer GPA of 3.75 or higher are eligible.
Priority awarding will begin March 1st.
Alaska Leadership Initiative
The Alaska Leadership Initiative (AL-I) is a two-tier, two-semester leadership program at UAS. AL-I participants positively impact their campus, career, and community. Participants meet for one hour each week for 10-12 weeks each semester and are eligible to receive $2000 to apply toward the cost of housing at UAS.
