Safe drinking water is essential to public health and having properly trained individuals is vital to community sanitation. ATTAC provides training and technical assistance relating to small public water systems in Alaska. Water, wastewater, utility and sanitary survey workshops are offered throughout the state. Our goal at ATTAC is to assist operators in developing, enhancing and maintaining technical, managerial, and financial capacity of their systems for increased public health protection and sustained compliance with the SDWA requirements. ATTAC is one of eight regional centers (TACNet) funded by a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Office of Water. The center, at the University of Alaska SE in Sitka Alaska, is a cooperative effort involving three academic units of the University of Alaska; UAS, UAA and UAF.
