- anterior: the region of the body associated with the head.

dorsal: the region of the body associated with the back, such as
the dorsal fin of dolphins
- ectoparasite: a parasite that lives on the outside of
its host
- eukayotic: cells containing membrane bound organelles.
- extracellular: occurring on the outside of cells.
- gonopore: a pore used to release or accept gametes.

hemocoelomic fluid: fluid occurring in the hemocoelom, or blood
filled cavity.
- nephridia: a liver-like organ used in urine production.

nephridopores: pores in the outside of the animal, representing
the end of the nephridea, where urine is expelled from.
- posterior: the region of the body associated with the anus, at the
opposite end of the head.
- ventral: the region of the body associated with the belly, at the
opposite side of the back.

ventrolateral: occurring on the ventral side.
