WELCOME TO THE CRAB LAB
Phone Number in the lab is 796-6572
The Crab Lab is a shared laboratory between Univeristy of Alaska Southeast professors Dr. Sherry Tamone and Dr. Ginny Eckert. The lab's principal focus is the study of crustacean ecology and physiology as it relates to commercially important crab species in Alaskan waters. Current research explores the role of environmental influences on biological processes such as reproduction and development, and the characterization and quantification of circulating hormones as a means of understanding life cycle activity. Of course other projects take place in the laboratory that are concerned with non-crab invertebrates (sea cucumbers, abalone)
