Tool Safety and Skills

Previous experience in carpentry is not necessary to succeed in this program since it will stress skill building in basic tool use as well as the latest “how to” of home construction. Women are encouraged to apply. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, women make up 9.6 % of the construction work force in this country.

Sample Projects

This program has been created with help from the Federal Government in response to a huge nation-wide demand for skilled workers in construction trades.  Many carpenters will also be needed for the Alaska gas pipeline project.  Now is an excellent time to consider a career in light construction.
