Sitka Campus:

I was employed 5 years in a large trout production facility in Washington state and moved to Prince Wm. Sound, AK in 1980 to work at a large Pacific salmon enhancement facility. In 1982 I moved to Sitka to work for Northern SE Regional Aquaculture and help develop the Medvejie Salmon Hatchery. I left NSRAA in 2003 but remained in Sitka, AK where I still reside and enjoy working with students and helping to develop the Fisheries Technology Program for UAS. In the summer months I operate Sitka Sound Tours using the 27’ Quiet Mon to show visitors around beautiful Sitka Sound, relating information about the vibrant fisheries that Alaska enjoys and getting to meet new people on a daily basis. Sportfishing for king salmon takes precedence over nearly all other activities during the summer months. Camping, hiking and hunting get squeezed in as alternative activities when not fishing... it’s a tough life.
