Phytoplankton Monitoring Workshop, Oct. 08 in Homer Alaska
Hosted by UAS-Ketchikan and the Kachemak Bay Research Reserve in partnership with the Harmful Algal Bloom Program at NOAA’s Northwest
Fisheries Science Center and the Phytoplankton Monitoring Network.
Both of these workshops are part of a UAS pilot monitoring program, the Southeast Alaska Harmful Algal Bloom (SEAHAB) Monitoring Partnership, which will provide continuing resources for monitoring. This monitoring project partners scientists with private shellfish growers, harvesters and other members of the public to assess phytoplankton and gain a better understanding of HAB events in the region.
