Summary:

Hecla is seeking an intern to work with the Environmental Department at its Greens Creek Mine during the summer of 2018. The intern will be assigned a major environmental project to be finished by the end of the summer.

Internships at Greens Creek are quite competitive and have historically led to repeat hires or full time work. The ideal candidate will have completed at least their sophomore year and be available from mid-May through mid-August, but all interested candidates are encouraged to apply.

In addition to the project work, experience will be provided in environmental monitoring, data organization, remote data collection, and laboratory testing methods. Interns will do a presentation of the final project results and summer accomplishments to senior management at the end of the internship.

Education Requirements:
Enrolled in a B.S. program in ecology, geology, hydrology, environmental engineering, or related field.

Training/ Special Skills:
Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing desired, along with knowledge of SQL database (not required).

Other requirements:
A valid driver’s license.
