Summary:

The intern job duties involve a variety of tasks and will provide the intern with an introduction to the basic principles of investment accounting. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of general accounting concepts, be motivated, and possess superb analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Work will involve performing hands-on accounting for a variety of investment asset classes including fixed income securities, publicly traded stock, real estate and other alternative investments.  The intern will work with a variety of individuals and groups both internal and external to APFC, including independent auditors and asset managers.

Duties will include:

  • Analysis of specific accounts and account groups
  • Preparation of summary schedules necessary for the annual year-end audit of the Alaska Permanent Fund


Duration: 12 weeks with flexible start and end dates, depending on school schedule.

Compensation: $18.63 per hour.

Travel and housing: one round-trip fare to Juneau will be reimbursed. Housing is not provided.
