The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is currently seeking a dependable and detail oriented College Intern I/II/III to perform accounting and administrative duties for the Accounts Receivable Unit in its Juneau Headquarters Building.

This position is responsible for processing various accounts receivable transactions and providing administrative and accounting support to office staff.

We allow flexible scheduling to fit your academic schedule. Expect to work about 30 hours per week during the summer and 15 to 20 hours per week during the school term. Additional hours could be worked during holiday and school breaks.

Key responsibilities and learning objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Deposit, verify, and reconcile bank deposits;
  • Enter, review, and approve data entry for financial transactions;
  • Conduct research to match federal and non-federal billings with deposit backup;
  • Assisting the Accounting Tech III with grant billings and audits;
  • Executing monthly billings for service agreement between Department of Fish and Game Divisions;
  • Assisting the Accounting Tech III with Reimbursable Servicing Agreements; and
  • Miscellaneous filing, document modification, and data entry.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Self-starter, who is motivated to work both independently and as a team;
  • Strong work ethic with reliable attendance and punctuality;
  • Maintain a professional attitude in an office setting;
  • Working knowledge of Windows Applications and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); and
  • Basic 10-key skills.

We will provide hands-on training in both IRIS (the state accounting system) and ALDER (the State's online report management system).

Pay: $17.01 - $19.16 Hourly (College Intern I/II/III)
