Summary:

Environment for the Americas (EFTA) created Celebrate Birds/Celebra las Aves to engage the next generation of Latino conservation stewards. The program is designed to encourage Latino youth to explore careers in natural resource management, environmental conservation, and scientific research.

Internship work will focus on migratory/nesting bird projects, citizen science and public outreach.

Eligibility:

  • Age 18 to 25, and in college (undergraduate or graduate) or recent graduate.

  • US citizen or legal resident.

  • Prepared to work 32-40 hours per week
  • A strong interest – or relevant experience – in bird conservation and/or willingness to learn is required. Enthusiasm for interacting with the public and children is encouraged

  • Able to attend a required weeklong training session at the beginning of March
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are helpful and preferred
