Summary:

This unpaid internship focuses on two aspects of informal science education: out of classroom learning and science journalism. Beginning and ending dates for internship are flexible.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Assist with our Education department in developing and facilitating our summer science camp programs
  • Will work with a team of science educators to deliver high quality programs across a breadth of scientific disciplines
  • Plan and implement their own educational program with SSSC and/or community partner
  • Will work on radio and print science stories for the local public radio station and daily newspaper

Intern Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelors degree in any field of science or education
  • Interest in science communication and education
  • Some teaching background preferred
  • A love of the outdoors
