Summary: HAP Alaska-Yukon is a collaborative land operation owned jointly by Holland America Line and Princess Cruises. We are the largest tour operator in Alaska and the Yukon and we're hiring for the 2018 summer season here in Juneau! HAP Alaska (Juneau) operates motor coach tours to visiting cruise ship guest's during the months of April-September. We have a variety of positions available that provide a wealth of customer service and operational work experience and all of our seasonal employees are eligible to receive cruise benefits with both Holland America Line and Princess Cruises. 

Available positions for the 2018 summer season, current openings in Juneau:
  • CDL Driver-Guide - Performs a variety of customer service and driving tasks.
    • Routinely, drives a motor coach to and from guest destinations in Juneau while providing a narrated tour. 
    • Must be 21 years old with a current driver's license and a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
    • A current, valid Class B CDL is preferred but can also be obtained through our PAID LOCAL CDL TRAINING program which begins in March.
    • Employees who are enrolled in our local Commercial Driver Training Program can register with the University of Alaska Summer Sessions Program to receive 3 credits for COMM 195, Communications and Tourism course from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
  • Van Driver - Performs a variety of customer service and driving tasks.
    • Routinely, drives a 6-14 passenger van to and from guest destinations in Juneau while providing a narrated tour. 
    • Must be 21 years old with a current driver's license and a clean driving record for the past 3 years. 
  • Dock Rep - Performs a variety of customer service and administrative tasks in the office and on the pier.

    • Dock reps are the frontline representatives on the pier and are responsible for confirming tour numbers on the docks and working with our Driver Guides to ensure successful and timely tour departures. They are responsible for developing and maintaining cooperative relationships with our fellow tour vendors and Shore Excursion Managers for the various ships serviced. Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.

    • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team while maintaining a positive demeanor with guests. This is a great entry level position for someone with little to no work experience.
  • Operations Supervisor - Supervise a transportation services team and the transportation services activities.
    • Assists with scheduling, transportation services activities and operations. Routinely applies knowledge of operations, company product, and customer services to assist staff with routine questions.
    • Performs incident investigation and reporting. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations. Must have completed some college or Associate degree work.
    • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintain an attention to detail, while working in a team or group environment. Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees and management. One or more years of experience in positions involving customer service, operations, dispatch, or training is preferred. Current valid Alaska state driver's license, with a clean driving record, is required.
