Summary:

Job Title: Summer Student Worker

Department: Transmission & Distribution

Reports To: Warehouseman

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a summertime seasonal position, responsible for general maintenance for
AEL&P property and assets.


KEY or ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Working as a team to complete an assigned task in a reasonable amount of time.
Operating motor vehicles, hand tools, power tools, and brush clearing equipment in a
professional and safe manner. Assist Warehouseman as needed.


SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Facility and Equipment Cleaning.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be currently enrolled in college and age 18 or older. Must possess a valid driver’s
license. Must authorize pre-employment release of Department of Motor Vehicles records
to validate insurability according to Company practice. Must pass a pre-employment drug
and Alcohol screening. Eligible summer season dates of employment are from May 1 st to
September 30 th .


EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:
Motor vehicles, brush clearing equipment, power tools and hand tools.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In order to meet all expectations of this position you will need to be able to lift 70 lbs.
without assistance and be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all types
of weather.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
For an employee to succeed in this position they will need to: utilize analytical skills for
common problem solving, prioritize work load, work safely, work efficiently, collaborate
with coworkers, and adapt to changing assignments.

COMPENSATION:
This position is represented by IBEW Local #1547 and subject to the current signed
Agreement between AELP and IBEW Local #1547 (Section 2.19, Section 2.3, & Section
10.2). Standard Union dues will be deducted from the employee’s wage. An hourly wage
is set at 45% of the current IBEW Journeyman Wage. The Company will not provide any
fringe benefits for the student worker other than those required by the State and Federal
government.

The hourly wage calculates out to $21.40
