As Juneau’s premier guiding company, Gastineau Guiding strives to deliver Juneau’s best fully guided outdoor experiences. We offer a variety of specialty whale watching and hiking tours that bring our guests off the ships and onto the trails as they explore Juneau’s abundant natural landscape.  

  • Dock Representative: 
    • Assist with day-to-day tour operations on the cruise ship docks of downtown Juneau.
    • Act as the first point of contact with all Gastineau Guiding visitors, as well as a liaison with cruise line representatives. 
    • Foster sales and settle daily accounting and port-of-call issues with cruise line representatives.
  • Nature Center Interpretive Staff: 
    • Present Mt.Roberts nature programs through visitor interactions, alpine presentations, and associated point of sale responsibilities. 
    • Provide current trail information to visitors and assistance to guides.
    • Perform specific retail functions based on every day operations.
    • Additional duties include guiding natural history walks (2 days/week) through sub-alpine ecosystems on the Mt Roberts Loop Trail as needed (extensive interpretive guide training is provided should an applicant be interested in guiding).

Pay rate/job length: Seasonal position, May-September. Full-time availability preferred, but would accept applications for part-tmie positions as well. Pay varies DOE, between $12-13/hr. Overtime should be expected. 5% end-of-season bonus upon fulfillment of contract dates.
