WHO WE ARE
As Juneau’s premier guiding company, Gastineau Guiding strives to deliver Juneau’s best fully guided outdoor experiences. We offer a variety of specialty whale watching and hiking tours that bring our guests off the ships and onto the trails as they explore Juneau’s abundant natural landscape. Celebrating 20 years as a locally owned and operated company, we continue to provide our guests with the Safety, Service and Sense of Wonder that has become Gastineau Guiding’s quality signature.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
All Gastineau Guiding tours are fully-guided, small group experiences, taking guests off the beaten track to places most other companies don’t go. Small groups of anywhere from 6-20 guests means more communication, more personal attention, and more time off the bus and on the trails. This is why our employees aren’t just guides, they’re naturalist interpreters. With over 50 hours of training, our guides are taught to provoke thought and interaction; to connect with the individual guest and the group, making it not just a tour but a memorable experience.
WHO ARE YOU?
Are you someone who has a true passion for the outdoors? Do you always want to know more and to share more? Do you like performing? Do you have stories to tell, but no one to tell them to? Well, we can help! We’re looking for strong communicators who can maintain a professional attitude and appearance while sharing their knowledge and passion of the natural and cultural history of Southeast Alaska. Gastineau Guiding proves extensive training beginning mid-April, with seasons coming to a close in late September. Full season availability is not required, but preferred.
Assist with day-to-day tour operations on the cruiseship docks of downtown Juneau. Act as the first point of contact with all Gastineau Guiding visitors, as well as a liaison with cruise line representatives. Foster sales and settle daily accounting and port-of-call issues with cruise line representatives. Carry out other administrative duties as assigned. Successful candidates must be able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
