If you are committed to making a difference,  seek work with lasting impact and want to help build girls of courage, confidence and character who make Alaska and the world a better place, Girl Scouts of Alaska is  hiring a Membership Specialist for our Southeast Region.  This position is based in Juneau, Alaska.  Girl Scouts of Alaska offers a robust benefits package with PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD and Life Insurance, and a 403(b) with employer match.  Pay for our Membership Specialists starts at $40,000 annually.

Under the guidance of the Membership Director, the Membership Specialist develops, retains, and increases girl/adult membership in assigned area and/or for assigned demographic group(s); recruits and provides ongoing support to volunteers; assists in developing and implementing plans for membership growth expansion in all markets; represents and extends Girl Scouting in the community through presentations, collaborative efforts, local marketing, and networking; and ensures the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is accessible within assigned area.  Position involves travel on a daily basis throughout assigned geographic area as well as occasional travel to the Anchorage Headquarters.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience successfully recruiting and retaining volunteers.
  • The ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with volunteers, parents, staff, girls and families.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • The ability to organize and carry out a multifaceted workload.
  • The understanding of and commitment to organizational diversity.
  • Access to automobile in working condition. Proof of meeting state requirements regarding auto licensing, driver’s license, and liability insurance.
  • A clean background with the ability to complete a satisfactory background check.
