Summary:

There are two positions available with Juneau Youth Services. These can be two separate part-time positions, or can be combined into one full-time position. 

Admin Assistant:

  • Attend meetings of and provide administrative support to the Steering Committee, Monthly Coalition, Public Awareness/Training, Community Wellness, and Postvention Committees.
  • Maintain records and collect data including inventory lists, website hits, rosters and training evaluations forms, and assist in completing required program reports.
  • Input Signs of Suicide data and work with the Program Coordinator to create a snapshot highlighting the program’s successes

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in the prevention field preferred.
  • Current Alaska drivers license

Outreach Specialist:

  • Become a certified trainer in various suicide prevention and postvention trainings
  • Reach out to community organizations, groups and agencies 
  • Coordinate and provide suicide prevention, postvention and Adverse Childhood Experience trainings with selected groups
  • Carry out new public awareness prevention strategies in coordination with the Public Awareness & Training Committee

Requirements include:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in public health or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in the prevention field preferred.
  • Current Alaska drivers license
