Summary:

Kodiak Area State Parks is looking for 3 trail crew members for a trail project to include trail corridor clearing, tread reconstruction, and trail bridge installation and repair. This is a field position, working outdoors in all types of weather. All candidates must have a strong work ethic, be able to work/live with others in remote settings, be able to lift and hike up to 50 lbs. over several miles difficult terrain, and operate hand and power trail tools.  Must be willing to fly in small engine aircraft to work sites on Afognak Island.  Must be willing to stay in dry cabins and camp in remote areas for up to two weeks at a time.  

Crew is needed for 8 weeks (June-July), paid $16 an hour, primitive housing (Dry cabin bunkhouse) available. 

Desired experience: Trail construction and/or trail maintenance; Chainsaw and brush cutter (weedwhacker) operation; Familiarity with a variety of trail hand tools; Hiking/camping experience minimum. For more information contact Ben Shryock at Alaska State Parks, Kodiak Office at 486‐6339.
