Summary:

Juneau Parks and Recreation is looking for a RECREATION AIDE to work during the Pre-school Open Gym & Noon Basketball as well as being able to cover a weeknight and/or weekend shifts as needed. The pay is $12.24/hour. Mt. Jumbo Gym is open from right after Labor Day through April 30. This is a great job for someone with young children as you are able to bring them to the gym with you or for students needing to study—employees have access to a computer and printer. Applicants must have current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications and be at least 18 years of age (this can be attained within 30 days of being hired). A background check must also be completed. Recreation Aide – Permanent Part-Time Limited

$12.24 Hourly

Typical responsibilities include the following:

  • ·         Opens and closes Mt Jumbo Gym or other Parks and Recreation facilities when needed; inspects facilities for cleanliness.
  • ·         Greets patrons via in-person or telephonically; assists patrons and answers inquiries.
  • ·         Supervises participants, and enforces all facility rules on conduct and use.
  • ·         Monitors a variety of activities, including classes or special events at various facilities.
  • ·         Assists the users with any equipment needs and facility set-up.
  • ·         Prepares facility for special rentals or activities.
  • ·         Inspects and manages recreation equipment; conducts daily safety inspections on equipment used.
  • ·         Collects fees and performs cashier duties.
  • ·         Prepares daily, weekly and monthly attendance and revenue reports; writes incident and accident reports as needed.
  • ·         Maintains basic first aid and CPR when required.
  • ·         Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QULIFICATIONS

Licensure:             CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment

Other:                    Not less than 18 years of age at time of appointment
