Summary:

The Environmental Program Specialist flex II-III (EPS II-III) works under the general supervision of the
Southeast Region Manager. This position works in the Southeast Alaska Region's Financial
Responsibility Unit to help fulfill the Prevention Preparedness and Response (PPR) program mission to
protect public health, safety and the environment by examining and evaluating the financial stability of
owners/operators of Nontank vessels (NTV) and regulated underground storage tanks (UST) operating
in Alaska to ensure they are financially responsible and can pay for clean-up of oil spills and any claims
for oil pollution and environmental damages that may arise from unlawful oil discharges. The
incumbent will also review oil discharge prevention and contingency plans (C-plans) for all regulated
NTVs operating in the State of Alaska. These responsibilities include facility inspections in accordance
with State regulations.

Candidates with degrees in environmental, physical, biological, or natural science; engineering; planning; natural resources; or public or business administration are encouraged to apply.
