SCA leader positions are 4-16 week paid positions leading youth or young adults in SCA conservation crews and projects throughout Alaska. Leaders work to mentor, motivate, and inspire their members while working on conservation projects and living com munally.

Crew leaders oversee high school members and their roles are multifaceted, requiring leaders to balance many tasks in backcountry or
frontcountry outdoor setting. Leader’s functions can be broken into the following:

  • Crew Manager
  • Technical Advisor
  • Partnership Representative
  • Program Administrator

Project leaders are responsible for young adults. Leading for SCA is a great opportunity to spend part of or an entire summer living and engaging with the outdoors in public lands that span from Sitka to Kotzebue.
