Employers
Looking to hire a college student or recent graduate? Do you have a full-time or part-time position that you are trying to fill? The University of Alaska Southeast Career Services Office offers an online job posting system where employers are welcome to post their job openings. All it takes is a quick registration. Use the login box on the Career Services home page, or go to www.ecampusrecruiter.com/uas.
Once registered, you can post a job or internship by simply completing the required information fields. If you need assistance, contact UAS Career Services at 907-796-6368 or at careerhelp@uas.alaska.edu.
It is important to note that this site has been developed for the benefit of registered UAS students and alumni. Since it is not a public job posting site, UAS Career Services reserves the right to approve access only for those individuals or organizations meeting our guidelines.
Internships
Internships are a fabulous way for employers to hire needed labor while also providing an effective means of recruiting and training students for future job openings.
All UAS interns are undergraduate and graduate degree seeking students. These student interns provide employers with cost-effective, high quality, enthusiastic employees. Best of all, internships provide students with a unique form of education that integrates classroom study with paid, planned, and supervised work experience in the public and private sectors. Student interns foster a positive company image on campus and can be ambassadors of goodwill for the participating company.
Internships also provide the University curricula with up-to-date changes in an industry via constant input from employers. Internships that provide students with college credit must offer work experience related to a student's program of study and be approved by a supervising faculty member. Other internships that simply provide students with an opportunity to gain work experience require fewer guidelines, but still must be approved by the Career Services Specialist.
For more information about establishing an internship program at your company, contact Career Services for an Employer Internship Packet that will explain the UAS requirements.
