Alumni
Are you interseted in helping UAS students?
Through the years, in good job markets and bad, UAS alumni have been involved in helping students and fellow alums chart the course from college to career. No matter how hard working the Career Services staff is we simply cannot do all that needs to be done. In fact, in a very real sense, you are the best resource to help prepare students for this transition. Your experience, your credibility, and your advice are invaluable as complements to the programs, services and resources offered on campus. Here are just a couple of ways you can contribute to the success of UAS students.
Become a Alumni Mentor
As a mentor, you can provide college students with an opportunity to get a “real world” perspective on the world or work and what it takes to succeed in the workplace. You become an important connection to help them develop a network of professional contacts and transition from school to work. For more information on becoming a mentor, contact Steve Laing, Career Services Specialist by phone at 907-796-6368, or by e-mail at careerhelp@uas.alaska.edu.
Become a member of the Alumni Association
Joining the UAS Alumni Association provides benefits to you and UAS. Paid membership in the Association offers you a wide variety services and discounts, an opportunity to participate in alumni events, and it is a great way to stay connected with fellow alums. For information about the UAS Alumni Association, call 907-796-6569 or e-mail alumni@uas.alaska.edu.
