Employers

Looking to hire a college student or recent graduate? Need to fill a full-time or part-time position? The University of Alaska Southeast Career Services Office can help. It offers a job posting bulletin board as well as an online job posting system. To utilize our online job posting system, go to the login box on the Career Services home page, or to www.ecampusrecruiter.com/uas, select "Employers" and complete the registration form.

Once registered, you can post a job or internship by simply completing the required information fields. If you need assistance, contact Steve Laing, Career Services Specialist, by phone at 907-796-6368, or by e-mail at steve.laing@uas.alaska.edu.

It is important to note that this site has been developed for the benefit of registered UAS students and alumni. Since it is not a public job posting site, UAS Career Services reserves the right to approve access only for those individuals or organizations meeting our guidelines.

Internships

Internships are an excellent way for employers to hire needed labor while also providing an effective means of recruiting and training students for future job openings.

All UAS interns are undergraduate or graduate degree seeking students who can provide employers with cost-effective, high quality, enthusiastic employees. Best of all, internships provide students with a unique form of education that integrates classroom study with paid, planned, and supervised work experience in the public and private sectors. Student interns foster a positive company image on campus and can be ambassadors of goodwill for the participating company.

Internships also keep University faculty and students up-to-date on changes in an industry via ongoing correspondence with employers. Internships that provide students with college credit must offer work experience related to a student's program of study and be approved by a supervising faculty member and the dean. Internships that simply offer students with an opportunity to gain work experience require fewer guidelines and can be coordinated through Career Services.

For more information about establishing an internship program at your company or agency, contact Career Services for a copy of our brochure that will explain the UAS requirements.
