Dominic Lodovici: 2013 Co-Outstanding Graduate in English
I first started attending UAS thinking I would get some General Education Requirements out of the way before transferring to an out-of-state college, but the close-knit campus atmosphere and a slew of great professors convinced me to stay and finish my degree. UAS allowed me to continue my studies and travel with their numerous study abroad programs.
A group of 12 students including myself and a few teachers were able to travel to Cuba and spend a full semester studying the Spanish language, Cuban society, Ernest Hemingway and the economics of tourism. Not many universities can boast about providing such unique learning opportunities to their students.
I don’t plan on letting my time with UAS end here. After graduation I will start the UAS Master of Arts in Teaching program in order to get some great hands on training before entering the job market.
UAS' 2013 Juneau Commencement will be held May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the UAS Recreation Center.
