About Ariel Kay Svetlik-McCarthy

As a graduate from the BLA in Outdoor and Adventure Studies, Ariel has participated in three major expeditions and completed a competitive internship at the internationally recognized Alaska Mountaineering School. She has consistently impressed program faculty with her evolving mastery of hard and soft skills related to outdoor endeavor, and exercises a critical and mature understanding of human participation in outdoor activities. Ariel is exceptionally supportive of her peer group and effectively mentors developing ODS participants. In addition, she is a competent and confident outdoor professional, and through her work with ODS has found guiding employment on the coastal waters and mountains of Southeast Alaska, and in the high mountains of the Alaska Range.
