Chelsey Jean Welch: 2014 Outstanding Graduate — Liberal Arts
My journey at UAS has been memorable and enlightening. Participating in National Student Exchange was certainly an amazing opportunity to experience life outside of Alaska and I highly recommend students take advantage of this program. UAS is a beautiful campus filled with professors who go above and beyond expectations, creating unique dynamics with students as well as a comfortable and conductive learning environment. ~Chelsey Welch
Chelsey has impressed her philosophy faculty as a thoughtful and articulate student over the past few years in her written work as well as in class. She consistently works hard and has really grown over the years to become a strong student. Because of the quality of work and dependability, she was recruited to be a Research Assistant in Assistant Professor of Psychology Amanda Sesko’s psychology lab. She is in her second semester working with Amanda, and they are pursuing a new line of research together. Chelsey plans to stay around next year to complete more research and to take more Alaskan Native Language courses.
UAS' 2014 Juneau Commencement will be held May 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the UAS Recreation Center.
