Richard Carter : 2014 Outstanding Graduate — Art
The University of Alaska Southeast is an amazing place to take classes and to participate in clubs and activities! The small class sizes allow the professors to become mentors who really care about your academic work as well as you as a person. Whether you are interested in theatre, visual arts, biology, or creative writing, it is easy to get absorbed into the Juneau community and find ways amplify your learning experience through activities outside the classroom. ~Richard Carter
Richard has contributed greatly to the UAS art community as well as the rest of the university. He is a high achieving student in all of his art classes. In his most recent body of work, he developed his own visual vocabulary including cohesive themes, color palette, and visual imagery. He is an active participant in a variety of student organizations. Richard also excelled in work on the Spanish minor. All of his class work and presentations have been excellent and creative and he demonstrates a high level of fluency (both written and oral) in Spanish.
