UAS Content Management System

The  content management system (CMS) application named Cascade Server, empowers UAS departments to update their web pages with a user-friendly interface that is available through any current Web browser (Firefox is recommended). These pages and tutorials will help you get started and familiar with the features of this new system.

If you are new, read all the pages in the Basics folder first. Then work you way through the Tasks as needed. You can always print out a page for quick reference.

Cascade Server operates on a "Test Server." This means that you can work on pages in your site and then publish them out to the "Live" Server when they are ready. It creates a collaborative environment for your web development team to work on documents in one place and publish them in a variety of formats for web or print.

To see files on the test server add '/sandbox/' after uas.alaska.edu, so the sandbox for this page would be http://www.uas.alaska.edu/sandbox/cms/. NOTE that the path must be as it is in the CMS, so if you are in a hidden holding folder (Departments, Support, Marketing) you need to include that. For Housing would be http://www.uas.alaska.edu/sandbox/Departments/housing/.

New Template Test

As you can see the CMS pages are looking different. We are testing a new responsive design template. It will react to any size device and adjust the content accordingly. This will allow us to use one web page for all desktop and mobile devices. Please give any feedback here ».
