FILE & FOLDER CREATION

During the process of creating a new asset (page, folder or file), you are prompted by several tabs to include system and metadata information that is crucial for navigation. These include:

• Content Tab: Be sure to select "include in navigation" if you want the page to show up in the left-side nav.
• Metadata Tab: A couple of items are required in order to make a new page and they include "Display Name" and "Title". The display name is how you want the page to appear in the navigation and Title appears at the top of the window, appended with "| University of Alaska Southeast".
• System Tab: System Name will appear in the CMS nav and is included in url so must follow naming standards to include no spaces (see file and folder naming below).

In the example above, In View #1 the name of index is set in the System Name and Grants is set in the Display Name so the site navigation will indicate Grants rather than index, as shown in View#3. The index file is significant in making breadcrumbs. The title field may have been entered as "Grant Opportunities" and publish as "Grant Opportunites | University of Alaska Southeast"
