^1 . The application says "ASRA" but I'm applying to "DDR", what does this mean?

Once you are accepted and placed in a DDR module, you will be contacted by DDR staff. They will handle your paperwork, payment and logistics for the module.

^2 . What are the dates of DDR?

DDR 2010 dates are June 12-24, 2011.

^3 . How much does it cost?

Course fees range from $1200 to $1600, in addition to travel to/from Juneau or Fairbanks

^4 . Where do the modules take place?

These three modules begin and end in Juneau, Alaska. Glacial Geomorphology and Marine Science take students to remote locations with 7 days in the field. The Environmental Engineering module will take day trips out of Juneau.

^5 . How do I apply?

Please go to the "Apply" link on the ASRA website and apply online. You can apply for either ASRA or DDR modules.

^6 . How will I know if I am accepted?

You will receive a confirmation email when your application is received. A second email will be sent upon your acceptance into the program. If you do not receive an acceptance email, please call 907-523-2337 to confirm your contact information.

^7 . Do I have to put a second module choice?

You should only apply for a module if you are willing to attend. If you are only willing to participate in one module, check that box. If you are willing to accept a second choice, check that box as well. Please be prepared to attend any module that you apply to. We try to place students in their first choice.

^8 . What if I can't afford to come?

Please request and complete a financial aid form. We encourage students to seek funding outside of DDR since financial aid is limited.

^9 . Will I get college credit?

Yes. Students who satisfactorily complete a module will receive 1 unit of college credit.

^10 . Whom do I contact if I have questions?

Contact us at email ddr@uas.alaska.edu or call Mary Hakala at 907-523-2336 or Becca Parks at 907-523-2334.
