Diesel engines simplified is the perfect course for the first time diesel owner, the long time diesel owner, or the person that is thinking about buying a unit with a diesel engine.
This is for the person that wants to learn enough about diesels that they feel comfortable operating, doing minor repairs, and performing preventive maintenance on their own diesel units. The primary focus is marine diesels but all applications are covered.
DIESEL ENGINES ARE EXPENSIVE... SO LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.
There is no prerequisite or expectation that you have had any mechanical experience.
The class is offered in the fall semester on Saturdays 9:00-1:00 and in the Spring semester on Thursdays nights from 6:00-10:00. We spend half the time in the classroom and the other half in our well equipped shop working on diesel engines. We have a large number of diesel engine for you to work on.
Here are a couple of DIESEL ENGINE SIMPLIFIED students checking some measurements. They remove the head and pull out a piston in this class. Then they will check and adjust the fuel nozzles, reassemble and start it up.
