Biography:
Captain Rice brings over 30 years of maritime experience to the UAS Marine Transportation Program. His specialty is small boats and he is the Owner/Operator of Back Country Sports, guiding clients full time on the rivers, lakes and oceans in Alaska. He has been an Adjunct Professor with UAS for over 5 years and is our distance specialist, traveling to remote communities as far North as Barrow to teach our 100 Ton Master course. He is well known for his can-do attitude and ability to respond flexibly to challenging situations!
