Effective January 2012, UAS is no longer accepting applications to any of our Early Childhood Education programs.

Application Requirements

The following items (forms available below) are necessary for a complete application:
  • A completed graduate application and $60 processing fee.
  • Official academic transcript indicating a baccalaureate degree and a GPA of 3.0*.
    *Conditional admission may be considered for slightly lower GPAs or mitigating conditions.
  • Two letters of recommendation on the SOE Letter of Recommendation Form.
  • Field experience statement form
  • Two writing assessments**
    1. Statement of professional goals. This is a 2 to 3 page typewritten and double spaced, formal paper containing a summary of education experiences. Statement will include:
      • A description of professional goals related to what is needed to teach early childhood students;
      • A statement of how the program might help in attaining those goals.
    2. A sample of professional or work-related writing.
    **These samples will be judged in terms of readability, style and proficiency in writing as well as alignment and compatibility of the student's objectives and expectations with the School of Education's goals.
  • Current teaching certificate or equivalent
  • Statement of Ability to do Field Experience
