Taking Courses Onsite Versus Online
Most of the courses in our programs are taken at a distance. The exceptions to this are ED 633: Classroom Integration of Multimedia, and ED 634: Classroom Integration of Audio-Video Technology. We have found that these courses are so hands-on and equipment-intensive that we need to offer them onsite.
To accommodate our many students who do not live in Juneau, we have created a Summer Multimedia Institute which is designed specifically to offer these two courses for the students in our programs. It is also possible to use prior coursework in order to meet program requirements, as explained below.
Two Ways to Complete Coursework
Generally speaking, there are three ways to complete coursework in any of the ED Tech programs:
- You can take the course from us
- You can use coursework completed at other institutions provided they meet the criteria of our courses and you do not use more than 3 semester courses toward a degree.
Each is described below:
- Taking the course from us. If you want to sign up to take a course, contact the Professional Education Center at 907-796-6050 or edtech@uas.alaska.edu.
- Credit for prior coursework. If you have already taken a similar course, submit your transcript, course syllabus, and final project to:
