Southeast Alaska Caves

Welcome to the main site for spelunking (caving) and cave information in the Alaska Panhandle.  Southeast Alaska hosts numerous karst landscapes and as a result of our high precipitation rates, many caves.  The archaeological discoveries in On Your Knees Cave have answered important questions about Pleistocene ice extents and human migration into central North America.  Caving is also a good way to get out of the rain, hang around with friends and get really muddy!  We hope that you enjoy the Glacier Grotto its related various groups.
