The Multidisciplinary Lab is a classroom/computer lab used by students during the semester. The computers are equipped with the standard UAS software build, as well as more specialized, environmental science oriented software such as: ArcGIS, EdGCM (Global Climate Model), BoxCar, Pathfinder Office, Rockware, Vernier Logger Pro, and others.
We also have GPS units, dataloggers, gages, digital cameras, field equipment, and various other items such as ice axes, crampons, and waders, available for checkout for use in student projects.
The Environmental Sciences Reading Room has a small collection of scientific journals available to students. It includes titles such as Science, Nature, Geotimes, GSA Today, Soil Science, Geophysical Research Letters, Water Resources Research, Environmental History, Arctic, Quaternary Research, Conservation Biology, American Mineralogist, Economic Geology and several others. Checkout of these journals is on the honor system so please be sure to return any journal you borrow, as well as keep the reading room clean and organized. The Reading Room also hosts a small sampling of the UAS mineral collection.
