Dr. Houtcooper earned his Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Life Sciences at Indiana State University and his B.S. degree in biology from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Houtcooper taught science courses in Michigan and South Dakota before coming to UAS in 2002. In addition to teaching courses in general biology and environmental science, Dr. Houtcooper teaches Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Microbiology, and the Science of Nutrition at the Ketchikan Campus.
