Biography: Ms. Liberty, Associate Professor (as of 2000); served on the AHIMA Council on Certification for three years. Carol graduated from the Health Information Management program at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and was certified as a Registered Records Administrator in 1974. She completed her Master’s degree in Adult Education at the University of Tennessee, graduating in 1985. Carol implemented the HIM program at UAS in Fall 1992 and continues to serve in the dual role of HIM Program Director and Assistant Professor. She served as President of the Alaska Health Information Management Association 1995-6, and was named AkHIMA’s 1995 Distinguished Member. She earned a post-graduate certificate in distance education from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1999.
