Education: BS in Industrial Electronics and Management from Keene State College MBA from the University of Alaska Southeast
Biography: In addition to being a professor of business at UAS, Steve has been owner of a private, for-profit managerial consulting firm since 1994. Past experience includes being administrator for the Juneau Recovery Hospital for five years and held a twenty year management/supervisory position with the United States Coast Guard. Professor Hamilton brings unique personal experience in management to UAS and its business majors. After thirty years in both financial and personnel management, his passion for business is evident both inside and outside of the classroom. This retired coastie has also worked as a Federal Contracting Officer, served the community as a certified AIDS educator with both the Red Cross and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and continues to serve on various boards within the Juneau community. In addition to the variety of business courses Steve instructs at UAS, including but not limited to the Introduction to Business, Principles of Management, the Political and Social Environment of Business, and Business Mathematics, he also teaches short courses for the Certified Public Manager program sponsored by UAS, the State of Alaska, and the Alaska Municipal League.
