  • If you want to be notified when your students take a test, check Yes for E-mail notification

E-mail notification will provide you with the same view your student's see after taking a Quiz.
    Example of the E-mail notification

If you don't wish to deal with all the e-mail you can use the Create Report feature to see the test results.
    Using Test Report.

  • If you choose not to display correct answers to the student with the quiz/test results the student will get the result that would only show if the student's answers were correct or incorrect but it will not show the correct answers. • Test Bank set up will allow you to:
      • add questions to the test and set the correct answers
      • you can also set responses to each student answer, whether it is a correct or an incorrect one
  • Here is the example of the responses being added to the question "What year was the Russian Olympics and what was its mascot?"

This option can be very useful as a pretest to help students prepare for major tests.

Giving responses to each answer will allow you to provide your students with better feedback. If their answer is incorrect they will learn what they should review for the right answer and where to look to find more information.

Editing Quiz/Test

  • To edit a quiz/test from a quiz library you need to select the quiz name in the pull down menu and click on the Create/Edit button.

  • The Quiz Builder set up will appear. Here you can make changes to the quiz/test.

  •  To link quiz/test to the gradebook do the following:
    • Select the gradebook item in the pull down menu (To be present in the poll down menu the item must be added to the gradebook first. See instruction on the Grade Book).
    • Click on Make Changes button.

  • If the gradebook item is selected, then the quiz will be linked to that item. This has a number of effects:
    • The students will be prompted for their gradebook code before being allowed to view the quiz
    • The student will only be able to take the quiz if they do not have a grade on record in the gradebook
    • When a student completes the quiz, the total number of correct answers will be entered in the gradebook. In addition, the date and time of completion will be appended to the gradebook item comments.
  • Some Implications:
    • Only students who are in the gradebook may take or view the quiz.
    • Faculty can ensure that students only take the quiz once.
    • The gradebook item must be created before the quiz.
    • There is no checking to ensure that the number of points in the gradebook matches the number of questions in the he quiz. If the number of points in the quiz is more then the possible number of questions in the quiz the students will never be able to score 100%. If the number of questions exceeds the number of point, then the extra questions will count as extra credit when computing the score.
    • If the faculty member enters ay grade manually in the gradebook before a test is taken, then the student will not be able to take the test.
    • There is no backward link from the gradebook to the quiz. In other words, the faculty member can change the gradebook scores manually through the normal gradebook interface. The system makes no attempt to change the quiz results to match.

Creating the Quiz puts it in the Quiz Library. You have to performe the following actions on each quiz to add the quiz to your homesite so students can access it.
