Sexual Relationships with Students
The University of Alaska's standards of conduct with respect to sexual relationships with students and employees, including student employees:
Regents' Policy and University Regulation 04.02.024 Consensual Sexual Relations
Unprofessional or prohibited relationships may violate state law and expose the University and the faculty member or supervisor to significant risk of claims of sexual harassment by the student in the relationship or by other students observing the relationship. Any violation will result in discipline up to and including termination, notwithstanding past practice to the contrary, if any. Employees who become aware of a relationship between a student and an employee who is in a position of authority with respect to that student, are expected to report that relationship to the cognizant dean, director, or supervisor, or to Human Resources or EEO personnel.
