Patent, Trademark, Copyright Policy  (BOR 10.07.050)

A basic function of the University is to contribute to knowledge and culture by creative activity in all academic areas, and to disseminate the results of such creative activity by the most appropriate and effective means.  The securing of a patent, trademark, or copyright, in certain circumstances, may be the most appropriate and effective means of disseminating the knowledge involved, and it is the general policy of the University to encourage and support production of such for the purpose of dissemination of knowledge.
